Lewis Hamilton, Flat Tyres, Self Hypnosis and You.

I have to admit, one of my guilty pleasures is watching the Formula One Grand Prix. This year the season has been affected by the whole Covid-19 thing. However, now it is underway and it has been a good start. The British Grand Prix has to have had one of the most exciting finishes in a long while.

Lewis Hamilton on his last lap gets a flat tyre. Yet manages to hold onto first position and take the chequered flag. Afterwards Hamilton said, "You may find this surprising, but at the end of the race I felt very calm."

When we know that we have got everything in place, when we have the right attitude we can stay calm in the most challenging of situations. Now, you may think that it is ok when you are part of a multi-million pound team, with the best in the field backing you. However, at the end of the day, the ability to stay calm, to be the best we can be does not come from the best mechanics, the best engineers, or the best team. It comes from within.
